My friends and I are constantly having discussions about which schools in the area are the best schools and what schools we want or wanted our children to attend. One school that gets a lot of praise in these conversations, especially from a friend of mine whose daughter attended the school is Tabernacle School in Concord, California.

A Christian school located at 4380 Concord Blvd, Tabernacle has so much to offer its students academically, socially, and spiritually. Tabernacle’s vision is that every child is unique and gifted, and it is the faculty and staff’s job to help students discover and develop their gifts. This ideology has led Tabernacle to offer a wide range of programs in academics and extracurricular activities to help students develop these unique abilities.

Tabernacle is a preschool through 8th grade school. The preschool offers the option to go for a full day or half day. Children are age four with eighteen in each class to provide a 9 to 1 student to teacher ratio. This helps give these young students the attention they need in order to develop a positive attitude toward school, learning, and social relationships. The elementary school average class size is 22 with a maximum total enrollment of 379 students. The middle school has a maximum enrollment of 162 students with an average class size of 24. Both the elementary and middle school operate on a 36 week, 4 quarter grading system calendar. The small classes create a better learning environment for students to interact with teachers and receive the help and attention they need. Middle school students have many elective opportunities and trips. 6th grade students can take typing, music, art, and technology classes while 7th and 8th graders can take anything from golf to graphic design to personal finance and many, many more.

Tabernacle is a great alternative to public elementary or middle school.
